WTA Tennis

The John Powless Tennis Center has supported USTA League Tennis since league play began in Madison in 1980.

If it were not for their generous support of USTA League Tennis, demonstrated by the number of courts they annually reserve for USTA matches – which include members and non-members, participation numbers for Fall and Winter USTA leagues in Madison would be significantly less.

The Powless family and staff is committed tot growing the game of tennis.  Their facility is the site for
    Junior Badger State Games
    The Rising Stars program
    Rotary Leagues
    Annual USPTR clinics
    Local high school team practices
    Greater Madison Junior Open
    Midwest Men’s Hard Court Tournament
USTA Playoffs and State Championships – they are the site of the
2008 State Tri-Level Championships in January
2008 State Combo/Senior Mixed Championships in March

John, Sheree and Jason Powless are enthusiastic in their support of tennis as the Sport For A Lifetime.

The Member Organization of the Year Award will be accepted by John Powless.  John is currently ranked #2 in the WORLD.  He won his 26th world title as a member of the United States BITSY GRANT team by winning his four hour & 18 minute singles match.  After his next match in Buenas Aires, he shuld have enough points to be NUMBER ONE.
