Three WI Teams Win at League Sectionals

Twenty-one teams from the USTA/Midwest Section have advanced to the national championship round of the largest adult recreational tennis league in the world by winning the USTA/Midwest USA League Tennis Sectional Championships, held this weekend in Indianapolis. 

Three teams (listed in bold below) from Wisconsin were among those emerging victorious at the sectional championships:

2.5 Adult Women - River Oaks Racquet Club (Rocky River, Ohio)
3.0 Adult Women - Kettering Tennis Center (Kettering, Ohio)       
3.5 Adult Women - Highlander Elite/Brookfield Tennis (Brookfield, Wi.)  
4.0 Adult Women - Racine Indoor Tennis Club (Racine, Wi.)              
4.5 Adult Women - Evergreen Racquet Club (Bloomington, Il.)          
5.0 Adult Women - Chippewa Tennis Club (Ann Arbor, Mi.)      

3.0 Adult Men - Charleston Tennis Club (Charleston, W.V.)
3.5 Adult Men - Norris Tennis Center (St. Charles, Il.)
4.0 Adult Men - Lake Country Racquet Club (Hartland, Wi.)
4.5 Adult Men - Indianapolis Racquet Club (Indianapolis, In.)
5.0 Adult Men - Five Seasons Country Club (Burr Ridge, Il.)
Open Adult Men - Huron Valley Tennis Club (Ann Arbor, Mi.)

3.0 Senior Women - Shadow Valley Racquet Club (Toledo, Ohio)        
3.5 Senior Women - Forest View Athletic Club (Arlington Heights, Il.)
4.0 Senior Women - Peak Performance (Fairlawn, Ohio)
4.5 Senior Women - South Barrington Club (South Barrington, Il.) 

3.0 Senior Men - Indianapolis Racquet Club (Indianapolis, In.)
3.5 Senior Men - Muncie YMCA (Muncie, In.)
4.0 Senior Men - Square Lake Racquet Club (Bloomfield Hs., Mi.)
4.5 Senior Men - LaTuchie Tennis Center (Stow, Ohio)

While two teams won their division in the sectional championships, the 2.5 men's champion (2.5 Adult Men - Sports Club-West Bloomfield from West Bloomfield, Mi.) was decided in local league play.

These teams went on to represent the USTA/Midwest Section at the USA League Tennis National Championships, where the No. 1 recreational tennis teams in the country will be crowned. 

This year, there were more than 900 players comprising 96 teams competing at the USA League Tennis sectional championships.  The teams, which represent various clubs, parks and organizations, finished at the top of their local leagues before advancing to the sectional championships.
