Tennis players love to brag about their accomplishments on and off the court.

A couple of my good friends really earned bragging rights in 2002.

Jim Siegel and Ralph Felton, both 55, entered 14 tournaments in various age

divisions and won 13 of them.

Their only loss came at the National Clay Courts held in Knoxville, Tennessee.

However, they won the consolation tournament.

In two finals (Wisconsin 35’s and 45’s) they were down match points and came back to win.

Representing Wisconsin in the Midwest Senior Team Competition held

in Lansing, Michigan, these old guys won the 55’s.

As a result of such a great year, they are ranked the number one men’s

doubles team in the 35, 45, 50 and 55 divisions in Wisconsin.

Additionally, Jim and Ralph are also ranked number one in the 55’s in the Midwest Section.

Jim holds the number one ranking in Wisconsin in 55 singles.

Ralph had insufficient data to be ranked.  Nationally they are number 10 in the 55’s.

I seriously doubt any other Wisconsin doubles team has accomplished so much

in a variety of age divisions in one year.
The only drawback to this remarkable achievement is that now they have nowhere

to go but down!!!!
