The Tri-level format is a good format for friends of different ratings to play together on the same team or for smaller communities where there are a limited number of players at each rating level.

Tri-level is three courts of either doubles or singles using three successive rating levels.  3.0; 3.5; 4.0 is a frequently used format.

Team size for singles is a minimum of only three players, one for each rating level.  Doubles is a minimum of six players, two for each rating level.

Tri-level leagues are offered in all areas of Wisconsin almost year ‘round.  Local league winners progress to the Wisconsin State USTA Tri-level Championships in Madison the first weekend in January.

Wisconsin boasts the Midwest National Tri-level Championship team for 2007 and 2008.  This team of twelve players, men and women, have played where the pros play during the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, California, for two years in a row.
